The review

The TST R7 is the kind of bike you buy on the spec sheet. For under $700 you get dual suspension, 20Γ—4-inch tires, a removable 720 Wh battery and a motor rated 750 W nominal with a claimed 1,500 W peak. The step-through frame means no swinging a leg over, and there's a rear saddle with footpegs if you want to carry someone.

What sets it apart from the other cheap imports is that it has 84 reviews and a 4.2 average. That's not a huge sample, but next to bikes with five reviews all posted the same day, it's real people describing how it holds up.

Two things we don't like. First, the mechanical disc brakes β€” cable, not hydraulic. On an 87-pound bike rated for 450 pounds total that can run on a throttle, cables are not enough brake: they fade, they lose feel and they need adjusting often. Second, the 180-day warranty, half of what most competitors offer.

And there's one number simply missing: the listing states neither a top speed nor a class. In the US that matters, because class decides where you can legally ride: bike lanes and paths usually allow Class 1 and 2 but restrict Class 3. With 750 W and a throttle it would be Class 2 at minimum β€” but until the manufacturer says so, we won't assume it. If you plan to ride on public paths, ask before you buy.

The good

  • Dual suspension and 20Γ—4 tires for under $700
  • 84 reviews at 4.2 stars: there's a real ownership record
  • Removable 720 Wh battery, charge it indoors
  • Step-through frame, easy on and off
  • Rear saddle and footpegs for a passenger
  • $100 off its usual price

The not so good

  • Mechanical disc brakes, not hydraulic β€” thin on an 87-pound bike
  • Only 180 days of warranty, half the usual
  • No stated top speed or class, which decides where you can ride
  • No published torque figure either, so there's no way to compare its pull
  • Six to seven hours for a full charge
  • Specific complaints about how hard it is to reach support

What buyers say

A summary of the reviews published on Amazon.com as of 2026-08-21.

4,2 de 5 4,2 84 ratings

4.2 out of 5 from 84 reviews, the most credible sample of any bike we've covered. The praise is consistent: value for money, plenty of push, easy assembly with the maker's video, and fast delivery. Several buyers add that support actually fixed specific problems for them β€” an out-of-round wheel, a sticky throttle. But there's also a detailed one-star review from a buyer whose throttle was dead out of the box and who couldn't get anyone to answer: the phone lines went to voicemail with a full mailbox and the emails went unanswered. Another flags a practical detail: with the headlight on, the battery drains far faster than normal. One thing worth noting: several of these are bought for 13- and 14-year-olds, and many states set a minimum age for Class 2 and 3 e-bikes.
