Of every bike we've covered, this one has the most people behind it: 597 reviews at 4.4 stars. And they aren't two-line reviews β buyers walk through the unboxing, how it handles a 10% grade, what the assembly is really like. That's worth more than any spec sheet.
What we like most isn't the price, it's the UL2849 certification. That standard covers the whole bike β battery, charger and electrical system β not just the cell. In the US a growing number of buildings, campuses and cities now require it before you can store or charge an e-bike indoors, after the fires of recent years. Finding it certified at $400 is rare.
Technically it's modest and doesn't pretend otherwise: a 500 W rear hub motor, a 374 Wh battery β the smallest in our US lineup β and mechanical disc brakes. The 55 miles it advertises are at the lowest assist level; on throttle, expect a lot less. In exchange you get a genuine 21-speed drivetrain and a lockout fork, both of which usually get cut at this price.
With a throttle and a 19.8 mph cutoff, it lands in Class 2: allowed in most bike lanes, though some natural-surface trails admit Class 1 only.
Anything marked «—» is a figure the manufacturer doesn't publish. We don't fill those in by eye.

A summary of the reviews published on Amazon.com as of 2026-08-21.
4.4 out of 5 from 597 reviews, and the quality of the writing is the best we've seen anywhere in this catalog. The same message repeats: for the money, it surprises people. One 63-year-old buyer explains he chose it to ride and enjoy the scenery without killing himself on hills, and is delighted. Another details that it arrives nearly built β handlebars, saddle and front brake caliper are all that's left. There are concrete warnings too: one buyer's headlight clamp arrived broken, and several insist on checking every bolt before the first ride. Nobody describes motor or battery failures, which is what matters most on a bike this cheap.
